Todo Tuanis in Tres Rios

Buenas Familia!

Well, first off I'm glad to hear that everything went well with Grandpa and the big move. That residence sounds awesome, and I think it will be a great place for Grandpa to rest, he has really lived a great and fulfilling life. I will always remember how he hated when we jumped on the beds, and one time he got me jumping on the bed and he scolded me. I love him. Well this past week was excellent. We will be having 5 baptisms this upcoming month, we will have Yazari and Martha on the 17th, and on the 24th we have the baptism and wedding of Daniel and Brenda, and their daughter Angie, so I am super stoked for this upcoming month.

We had a really neat experience this past week. So something I love doing is contacting people, and knocking doors!!! I don't know why, but I love it because it is a neat way to meet a ton of different people. It is also an excellent way to follow the Spirit, and find those people that the Lord has guided us to. But this week we had a really funny and cool experience. All of our lessons had fallen through, and we had no idea what we were going to do, so we decided to pray. The whole day this random Husky dog was falling us in the street, and after the prayer we decided to follow it. So we followed it to this one house, and we knocked the door and the family invited us in. We taught a little bit about the restoration and the husband told us that he had always been confused about which was the true church, and how we can find out. They are super excited to come to church and learn more, so hopefully we can keep teaching them and help them  to understand more about this gospel.

We also had a really neat experience. So this past week we had leadership counsel with President Wilkinson, and he told us about a sister in another stake here in Costa Rica that gave him a reference. He said that the sister had prayed a lot for a missionary experience, and that she started talking to her friend, Karina, about the Plan of Salvation. Turns out that Karina's mom had passed away about 4 months ago, and she had always had questions about the plan of salvation. And guess what? Karina lives in our area, so we went over to her house yesterday and explained to her breifly about the plan of salvation. It was so cool! She told us finally that all the pieces had clicked together. She had been searching for her whole life for the truths that we have here in the gospel, and had really attended like 5 or 6 different churches, and finally her search is over. I love this gospel, and I love the truths that we enjoy. I have always taken the gospel for granted in my life, and just now here in the mission I am finally understanding just how blessed we are to have this knowledge. And especially how blessed I have been to have been born in the Church in this last dispensation. I love it! I love the plan of salvation and the comfort it gives to us. After this life it is not all over. We keep learning and perfecting ourselves, and I love it! This is the true church.

Well family, I love and miss you everyday. Today I was thinking about how soon I will be going home. The mission has gone by so incredibly fast. It really made me sad haha, I love everything that I am learning and doing here. I love the guidance, and comfort that my Father in Heaven has given me here. I love the feelings that I feel here, and the peace that I have found in my life. Take care, and I am always praying for you. Love you all!

Pura Vida,
Elder Taylor
